Fun in the sun 14 Strathfield Scene DECEmbEr 2010 kids “There’s simply no excuse for anyone saying ‘I’m bored!’ these holidays. Everwanted to sail on a tall ship, learn to ice skate or improve your cooking skills? Then, you’re in for a great treat this Christmas Holidays. Strathfield Council has put together a really wicked holiday program just for kids – all these activities are listed on this page, along with booking details. So whether you want to learn a craft such as painting ceramic plates or outdoor activities like shore fishing, you’ll find something that is sure to fit the bill. And if you want to give your brain a rest, there are plenty of fun-filled excursions to Jamberoo theme park and the Sydney Tower. Activities are open to kids aged from five to 17 years and will suit just about every taste and interest. What’s more most of these activities are free (apart from a $5 booking fee) which is bound to keep mum and dad happy. So what are you waiting for? But don’t hang about for too long – places are limited and this program is so hot it’s bound to book out really quickly. Other fun events over the summer include treasure hunts, skating and mini golf – plus six show stopping performances by The Wiggles. Or perhaps having a crack at archery or trying your hand at the trapeze or somersaults might be more your speed? Don’t worry if you haven’t done it before.
