IT MAY have begun life as a humble garage, but these days David's Fresh is something of a local icon in Homebush -- a popular place to both shop and meet friends for co ee. e busy fruiterer, Continental deli and cafe recently celebrated its rst birthday. e mayors of Bur wood (Cr John Sidoti) and Strath eld (Cr Tony Maroun) were on hand to help owner David Torbey and brothers Joseph and Slim to cut the cake (pictured) and there was free face-painting for the kids. Elsewhere, Strath eld marked the 2010 Moon Festival with lion dancers, local stalls, live entertainment and, of course, plenty of moon cakes. is year's celebration was once again organised by the Flemington Chamber of Commerce.
